Insurgent is the 2nd book in the Divergent series. I finished the book not too long ago and now I am reading Allegiant, the third book in the series! Back to the story, it is about the same girl name Beatrice living in the ruins of Chicago along with her brother Caleb, who wanted to kill her later on. They all wake up in Amity headquarters, Four, Beatrice, Marcus, Caleb and Peter, but then, the dauntless come to capture all of the divergent so Beatrice has to hide with Four and Marcus. Peter betrays them and tells the dauntless where they are, making Beatrice, Four, Marcus and Caleb flee to the train on rout to the city, where they meet the Factionless. They get into a huge fight with the Factionless until Four reveals his actual name, Tobias Eaton. The Factionless all stop and make a huge deal out of his name, and bring him and the other 3 to a Factionless safehouse, where Tobias finds his mom, who he thought was dead.  He talks to his mom and finds the reason why she faked her death and left Tobias’s father,leaving Tobias behind as well. It was all because of Marcus Eaton. Marcus was a very abusive father, also why Tobias left him when he turned 16. Late at night, they start talking about how to become allies and defeat the dauntless traitors and Jeanine Mathews, Erudite leader, with the Factionless.  They find the reason why the Erudite released those simulations, to look for Divergent. The Erudite are siding with half of the Dauntless to find more Divergent, but not all Dauntless betray, some stay and hide in Candor headquarters, along with other Candor and Candor leader, Jack Kang. One day, the Dauntless traitors and Erudite break into Candor headquarters injecting Candor with a transmitter that only effects non-Divergent, and puts them in a simulation, so the Dauntless traitors would know if someone is Divergent or not if a Candor or Dauntless is awake. Beatrice gets caught by Eric, Dauntless leader when she is trying to save a Divergent Candor girl from the Dauntless, and gets taken away. They are supposed to kill her, but before they can, the royal Dauntless break in and save her and everyone with her. They soon realize that the transmitter will force innocent people to jump of a building if they do not give Candors Divergent population to Erudite. So soon Beatrice decides to hand over herself to Erudite, hoping the murder would soon stop. It worked, she thought. The Erudite study her until Tobias breaks in and tries to save her. That didnt work. The Erudite then decide to kill her, in the room where Beatrice was going to die, she meets Peter again. Peter changes the strum last second to save Tris from the Erudite, and bring her to Tobias who is also locked up in Erudite, to leave and become allies with the Factionless. A little while into the story after they attack Erudite and release a video, a video that releases the secret about the city, that its being controlled by people outside of the city, and that one person volunteered to live in the city. That person was Edith Prior. Beatrice’s last name, is Prior. That’s basically the book and now I’m on Allegiant, the 3rd book in the series!

Divergent is about a young girl named Beatrice living in the ruins of Chicago who needs to decide her future and life at age 16. She has a choice of 5 new homes: Dauntless, Candor, Abnegation, Amity or Erudite. To make the decision, she takes a test, but, she gets multiple results. This is called Divergent. She soon realizes that being Divergent is very dangerous. She needs to keep it hidden or else, but, she chooses Dauntless. She falls in love with an instructor she met at Dauntless, named Four. Then, she is in deep trouble when the Dauntless use Erudite technology to find all the Divergent, and use them to their advantage. The Dauntless leaders inject all the successful initiates with a serum that takes over their body, and follows commands from a computer, but, the serum does not affect Divergent. Beatrice realizes that if she does not act like everyone else, she will die. She realizes that Four is also Divergent, and they try to save everyone bye destroying the computer. But, the leader of Erudite captures Four, and tests a new serum that is only effective on Divergent. The serum also follows commands, commands to kill Beatrice. Beatrice tries to break the serum and gets pinned by Four, and is about to kill her. Then, mysteriously Beatrice breaks Four from the simulation and fight the Dauntless until they get to the computer. Since Four is good with computers, he shuts the simulation down and everyone is saved. In the process of this, Beatrice’s mom and dad, get shot by the dauntless, and die. Beatrice and Four escape the city along with Beatrice’s brother, Caleb, and head to Amity. The rest is in the book “Insurgent”, which is the book Im currently reading.
